Adam Barker-Hoyt​
Meet our Founder/Owner/CEO

Team Member since 2011
 Adam has always had a vision of a more eco-friendly Maine. Using his mathematics, philosophy and education background, he founded MAC Heat Pumps as a way to allow Mainers to benefit from the most efficient heating and cooling methods, while also drastically reducing CO2 emissions.  Adam is steadfast in his commitment to customer service and education, as well as to help safeguard our natural environment.

Jeff Cram
​Operations Manager

With more than 20 years of experience in customer service, logistics, and office management, combined with over 500 heat pump installations in both commercial and residential settings, Jeff is uniquely qualified to assist in many aspects of our day-to-day operations. From proposal generation, to technical support, to the review of overall operations, Jeff's goal is to ensure that our customers have a gratifying experience with MAC Heat Pumps.

Kim Billings
​Office Manager

Team Member since 2019
Fielding one of the most intense positions on the team, Kim's grounded nature is ideal for our company. She oversees scheduling, rebates, record-keeping, and handles customer concerns/feedback. She's a vital component to keeping our “machine” running, and we'd be lost without her!

Eric Stohr
​Sales Manager

Team Member since 2021​
Eric grew up in the HVAC industry and has always been a part of it. He couldn't leave it if he tried! He loves heat pumps for the comfort they provide, their efficient and quiet operation, and how they're helping preserve Mother Nature's well-being!

Jason Boden
​Parts Manager

Team Member since 2019​
Jay's background includes years of logistical operations and warehouse management.  This helps him keep our warehouse stocked and our technician's equipped for whatever needs doing.  He ensures our fleet runs in top condition, and that all our repair parts and warranty claims are squared away.

McKenzie Craig
Office Assistant

Answering the phone, scheduling appointments, and working with customers to answer their questions are all just part of what McKenzie does at MAC. With nearly-boundless energy and a clear and direct manner, she is always ready to help get things done. 

Meet Our Sales Team

Sam Hill
​​Sales Representative

Team Member since 2013
​Starting as a technician, he spent 7 years providing high-quality heat pump installations for hundreds of MAC customers. Sam then decided to put his heat pump expertise to work on the other side of the sale, and is educating customers on the best install for their needs. His background with the nuts and bolts of heat pumps gives his customers an edge when making decisions about their installation.

Martin Ward
Service Technician

Team Member since 2020
With an outgoing personality, and a willingness to go the extra mile, Martin has a combination of traits suited to diagnosing and repairing heat pumps. He works hard to take care of our customers and is constantly searching out ways to improve his skills. Martin won't rest until he's solved any problem he comes across! 

Meet Our Master Electrician

Bill Omlor
​Master Electrician

Team Member since 2013
Bill is a fully licensed and insured Master Electrician. In over 25 years on the job, he has worked on residential, commercial, and industrial contracts. Bill is an expert at wiring heat pumps in a variety of locations and applications.

Alan Spear
Installation Technician

Team Member since 2013
Alan brings a wealth of knowledge regarding HVAC application, as well as plumbing, pumping, and mechanical systems to the MAC team. His depth of experience and attention to detail ensure a quality installation, every time.

Chris Kelleher
Installation Technician

Team Member since 2020​
Chris came to us from the Portland Museum of Art, where he served as their Head of Maintenance. He's recently relocated his family to the Ellsworth Area, and we're lucky he chose to sign on with MAC. Always respectful and polite, he keeps the high standards of customer service we've cultivated at the forefront of all of his installs. 

Anthony Parady

In addition to having installed hundreds of heat pumps, Anthony comes to us with a wealth of experience in the fields of communications technology and systems, as well as management and logistics. He applies his enthusiasm and drive as an entrepreneur to every installation he does.

Tom Benney

Tom is just starting out with us, but has already made great strides. While training to become an installation technician, he's mastering maintenance work. With a quick wit and drive to help in any way he can, Tom is a great addition to a fantastic team!

Ben Jones

Ben is quick with a smile and is always willing to lend a hand. He's got experience from a variety of disciplines, and is no stranger to working in harsh elements – a big plus in the heat pump installation field! Ben can be counted on every day, and we're glad to have him. 

Ryan Cyr

Starting with little experience in HVAC, Ryan has grown greatly in the short time he's been with us. His attitude is open and curious, which helps him learn quickly and makes him easy to work with. We can't wait to see how far he'll go here at MAC.

Josh Field
Maintenance Technician

When it comes to heat pumps, Josh is a bit of a perfectionist! He is always meticulous, and unerringly respectful and polite. Over the years he's proven to be the example to which all of our heat pump cleaning technicians strive. In fact, in most cases, he's the one who trains them!

Will Cochran

Mild-mannered and usually quiet, Will is nonetheless a hard worker. He continues to learn more and more tricks of the trade to provide a quality cleaning experience with every job he does. His subdued mannerism makes him an ideal tech for customers looking for a low-key maintenance appointment.
